“What’s typography?” I asked the nice interviewer for the MFA program at the School of Visual Arts. This was the first thing I said after she rather breathlessly informed me that only a thorough knowledge of the subject, something she declared to be the most vital, potent element of graphic design, would admit me to their fine institution. I like to think I’m smarter these days.

Years ago an alien cyborg clone from the future appeared before me and regaled me with tales of Square360’s brave and noble deeds in The Great Design Wars. Awestruck and inspired, I abandoned my original career path (criminal litigation) and honed my body, mind, and design skills for the day when I would be ready to be a Square Samurai.
Today I sit ever vigilante and perfectly center-aligned at my post, sketch-hand ready, with my comrades at my side.
